NIAGARA FALLS, ON — April is Earth Month, and the City of Niagara Falls and the Environmental Action Committee (EAC) are inviting residents to take part in ways to give back to the community and the environment: the Community Curbside Giveaway and the Spring Community Clean Up.

"Community Curbside Giveaway"

Community Curbside Giveaway

SATURDAY, APRIL 18, 2026 | 7 AM - 5 PM

Residents are encouraged to place gently used items at the curb from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (rain or shine) for others to take for free. It’s an easy way to keep items out of the landfill and give them a second life.

  • Clearly mark items with a “FREE” sign (download one from the City’s website or make your own)
  • Share what you’re giving away on the Facebook event page
  • Bring any unclaimed items back in by 7:00 p.m. to avoid by-law issues

Learn more, including what items are accepted, at niagarafalls.ca/curbside.

"Spring Community Clean Up"

Spring Community Clean Up (Earth Day)

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, 2026 | 4-7 PM

Taking place on Earth Day, this event runs from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with volunteers meeting at the MacBain Community Centre (7150 Montrose Road) to pick up equipment and help clean up parks, trails, and neighbourhood spaces.

It’s a great way for individuals, families, and groups to get outside, pitch in, and make a visible difference in the community.

  • Register at niagarafalls.ca/cleansweep (walk-ins are welcome)
  • Gloves, safety vests, and garbage bags will be provided (limited pickers available)
  • Share your photos on social media and tag the City of Niagara Falls
