MacBain Community Centre Supporting Flood Response; Most Programs Cancelled August 6

Due to Sunday’s significant rainfall and flooding across the region, nearly 100 St. Catharines residents remain displaced from their homes and are being accommodated at the MacBain Community Centre.

To continue supporting the emergency response, most programming at the MacBain Community Centre will remain cancelled on Thursday, August 6, following cancellations on Wednesday, August 5.

Service impacts for Thursday, August 6:

• Public access to the facility will be limited before 9:00 a.m., except for modified summer camp programming.
• At Your Service counter service will begin at 9:00 a.m.
• Aquatics programming will resume at 9:00 a.m. There will be no public access to the pool before 9:00 a.m.
• The indoor walking track will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• All Older Adult programs, as well as registered and drop-in recreation programs, are cancelled.

The City will provide an update by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, regarding programming scheduled for Friday, August 7.

Participants registered in cancelled paid programs will receive automatic refunds. No action is required.

Please note that At Your Service Niagara Falls at the MacBain Community Centre will remain open on Thursday, August 6, to continue supporting residents; however, in-person counter service will begin at 9:00 am.
