MacBain Community Centre Supporting Flood Response; Most Programs Cancelled August 4–5

Due to yesterday's significant rainfall and flooding across the region, nearly 100 St. Catharines residents have been evacuated from their homes. They are currently being accommodated at the MacBain Community Centre.

As a result, most programming at the MacBain Community Centre has been cancelled for Tuesday, August 4. Public access to the facility will be limited before 10:00 a.m., except for modified summer camp programming. Cancellations include all Older Adult programs, as well as registered and drop-in programming.

Aquatics programming and At Your Service counter service will resume at 10:00 a.m. To provide additional privacy for evacuated residents, there will be no public access to the pool before 10:00 a.m.

The City will provide an update by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, regarding programming scheduled at the MacBain Community Centre for Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5.

Participants registered in cancelled paid programs will receive automatic refunds. No action is required.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact At Your Service during operating hours by phone, email, or in person:

Please note that At Your Service Niagara Falls at the MacBain Community Centre will remain open on Tuesday, August 4, to continue supporting residents; however, in-person counter service will begin at 10:00 a.m.

We anticipate a higher-than-normal volume of calls and appreciate your patience and understanding as we respond to this evolving situation.
