City Service Updates Due to Poor Air Quality

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued an Orange Air Quality Health Index warning for the Niagara Region as smoke from wildfires in northwestern Ontario moves into the area. Poor air quality may persist into Friday, July 17.
A Heat Warning also remains in effect for the Niagara Region, which may increase health risks. Residents looking to stay cool can find information on cooling locations, heat safety, and other available resources at niagarafalls.ca/hot-weather.
In response to current conditions, the City of Niagara Falls has made the following service adjustments for today. Conditions will continue to be monitored throughout the day, and updates will be made as necessary.
Outdoor pools
The following outdoor pools are closed today (Thursday, July 16):
- Niagara Falls Lions Pool
- Buck Hinsperger Pool
Swimming lessons at Niagara Falls Lions Pool are operating as scheduled.
Certification courses scheduled at Prince Charles Pool have been moved to the MacBain Community Centre.
FH Leslie Pool and Prince Charles Pool remain open to provide residents with access to cooling during the heat.

Athletic fields
All City of Niagara Falls athletic fields are closed today (Thursday, July 16).
