City of Niagara Falls extends Public Engagement for Unhoused Action Plan

NIAGARA FALLS, ON - With feedback still coming in from residents and community partners, the public engagement deadline to share input on the Unhoused Action Plan has been extended to Saturday, February 28th, 2026.
The Action Plan will guide a more coordinated and proactive response to homelessness and related challenges in the community, including hunger, public drug use, illegal activity, and disruptive behaviour in public spaces. Public feedback will help shape the plan’s priorities and recommended actions.
The City is encouraging community organizations, service providers, and advocacy partners to share this engagement opportunity with their networks, clients, and user groups to help ensure diverse perspectives are reflected.
The initiative is being led by Ken Todd, former Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Niagara Falls, whose proven leadership and long-standing commitment to the community will help shape the plan.
“This has been one of the most important parts of the process, with people contributing their ideas and input,” said Ken Todd. “Extending the engagement period allows more voices to be part of shaping meaningful solutions.”
Comments, ideas, and recommendations can be submitted until Saturday, February 28, 2026, through the City’s online engagement platform at: letstalk.niagarafalls.ca/unhoused-action-plan-2026
All input collected will inform recommendations brought forward to Niagara Falls City Council in June 2026.
The City encourages everyone with an interest in building a safer, healthier, and more compassionate Niagara Falls to participate and to share this opportunity within the community.
