Celebrate June is Recreation and Parks Month in Niagara Falls


NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls is celebrating June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) alongside communities across Ontario, recognizing the important role parks, recreation, and active living play in building healthy, vibrant, and inclusive communities.
Throughout June, residents are encouraged to get active, explore local parks and green spaces, and take part in special community events happening across Niagara Falls.

Play in the Park
As part of the month’s celebrations, the City of Niagara Falls is hosting Play in the Park on Saturday, June 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. at F.H. Leslie Pool (5250 Valley Way).
This free, family-friendly event will feature a mix of scheduled and drop-in activities designed to get children and families active, engaged, and enjoying the outdoors together. It’s also a great opportunity for families to meet the City of Niagara Falls camp counsellors ahead of the summer camp season.
Residents of all ages are welcome to attend.
Disc Golf “Try It” Event
The City’s Recreation Committee, in partnership with the Stamford Centre Volunteer Firemen’s Association and the Greater Niagara Disc Golf Association, will also host the inaugural Disc Golf “Try It” Event on Saturday, June 20, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Firemen’s Park (upper level).
This free event invites residents of all ages to learn the basics of disc golf, practice their throwing skills, and try a round on the course with support from experienced instructors. Registration is required.
