About:

Before Evergon established his prodigious art and photography career locally, nationally, and internationally, he grew up in Niagara Falls and attended Stamford Collegiate. From the mid-1970s until 1999, Evergon taught in the Fine Arts program at the University of Ottawa. During this time, he came “home” to teach courses at Brock University from 1992 to 1998. He continued to teach at various schools in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. throughout his career, and has had solo shows at the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television and the Musée National Des Beaux-Arts du Québec. His work is included in public collections worldwide.

Evergon has been recognized by several prestigious awards, including the Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts for Artistic Achievement and the Prix Paul-Émile-Borduas, both in 2023. He currently lives and works in Montreal and is a professor emeritus at Concordia University.
