Planning and Development

We manage land use and city growth and guide development through the Official Plan and Zoning by-laws.  New neighbourhoods are planned through the subdivision process, while smaller land changes use consents to sever. We also protect heritage buildings, track environmental hazards, and maintain growth statistics.
