Niagara Falls, ON, April 14, 2016 – The City of Niagara Falls has announced an extension to the Niagara Falls Farmers Market - Call for Musicians. The call for musicians will now close on Thursday, April 21st, 2016. Applicants who have already applied need not reapply.
The following changes apply to all submissions to perform at the Farmers Market:
- A minimum fee of $100 will be paid per performance. The final performance fee to be confirmed after an agreement for tariff is established with the Niagara Regional Musicians Association (not less than $100 per performance).
- Performances will be 60 minutes in length (two sets of 30 minutes recommended).Breaks, set up, and strike are not included in the 60 minute performance.
- Musicians may use the existing Farmers Market equipment including a small PA, mics, mic stands, and cords or provide their own sound. If musicians provide their own sound equipment, it must meet CSA standards/certifications and be in good working condition. Musicians may choose not to use amplification.
Other terms of play include, music must be appropriate for the venue and be suitable for all ages in a public setting. Musical performances must remain at a volume that allows the vendors to easily interact with customers. The venue is conducive to solo and small acts. Folk music, light rock or country music can all be successful at this venue as people tend to listen to the music while shopping or enjoying snacks and beverages from our vendors.
The musical entertainment at the Niagara Falls Farmers Market will take place on Saturday mornings starting May 21st and ending October 8th. Performances are to begin at 10:30 am. The area is open to the elements and is approximately 10’ x 10’. A 10’ x 10’ tent is provided.
Musicians are asked to express their interest via email to email@example.com , including their full name, mailing address, phone number, samples or links to samples of their musical performances as well as their availability for Saturdays from May 21st to October 8th, 2016. Past performers are not required to submit samples of their musical performances but are welcome to do so.
