Seniors Ride Free Promotion

September 1 to November 30, 2019

The City of Niagara Falls is offering residents, aged 65+, FREE, UNLIMITED RIDES, with Niagara Falls Transit, including WEGO Red & Blue Lines, and Chair-A-Van* services (for registered clients only), starting September 1 until November 30, 2019.

The promotional Seniors i-Ride Card is available at the following City facilities for qualifying residents with a photo I.D. and proof of address:

  • Niagara Falls City Hall - Finance Department (4310 Queen Street) - Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • MacBain Community Centre (7150 Montrose Road) - Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Transportation Services Office (8208 Heartland Forest Road) - Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Gale Centre (5152 Thorold Stone Road) - Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Coronation Centre (5952 Summer Street) - Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Chair-A-Van Office (5734 Glenholme Avenue) - Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Steps for the i-Ride Card

Step 1 - Pick up a promotional i-Ride Card

Visit a participating City facility and pick up your promotional Seniors i-Ride Card, at no charge.

Qualifying residents will need to fill out a short form and provide photo I.D. and proof of address to obtain the card.

Step 2 - Enjoy Unlimited, Free Rides!

Unlimited, free rides, seven days a week, with Niagara Falls Transit, including WEGO Red & Blue Lines and Chair-A-Van Services* between September 1 and November 30, 2019

  • When does the Seniors Ride Free promotion begin?

    The Seniors Ride Free promotion begins on September 1 and will run until November 30, 2019. In order to take advantage of this exciting opportunity, a promotional card will need to be picked up at a participating City facility.

    The cards are available for pick up at a participating City facility, starting on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Please note the cards provide unlimited, free rides on Niagara Falls Transit including WEGO Red & Blue Lines and Chair-A-Van* services (to registered clients only) from September 1 to November 30, 2019 only.

  • Where do I get my promotional card?

    Starting on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, the promotional Seniors i-Ride Cards can be picked up by qualifying residents at the following City facilities:

  • What are the eligibility requirements for the promotion?

    To qualify for the promotion, you must reside in the City of Niagara Falls, and be 65 years of age or older. A valid photo I.D. and proof of Niagara Falls residency will be required.

    Acceptable forms include:

    • Driver’s license
    • Household bill (telephone, TV, hydro, gas or water)
    • Bank/credit card statement
    • Statement of government benefits (employment insurance, old age security, social assistance or disability support)
    • Property tax bill

    Proof of identity
    One piece of valid government-issued identification that includes a photograph, name, and date of birth must be presented.
    Acceptable forms include:

    • Driver’s license
    • Canadian passport
    • Permanent resident card
    • Provincial Heath Card (red/white version is not acceptable)

    Important: If you do not have the required photo identification to obtain the Senior ID card, you can contact a Service Ontario office to apply for the new Ontario Photo Card.

  • How do I use the card?

    Upon boarding, tap the Seniors i-Ride card on the location shown on the fare box. If you do not have the card, you will be required to pay the transit fare to board the bus.

  • Does this promotion include Niagara Regional Transit and WEGO services?

    The Seniors Ride Free promotion is valid on Niagara Falls Transit, including the WEGO Red & Blue Lines only, and Chair-A-Van* services (to registered client only) from September 1 to November 30, 2019.

  • I lost my card, can I be issued a replacement?

    When you apply for a promotional Seniors i-Ride Card, you accept responsibility for the use of the card. There will be a $5.00 charge and proof of Niagara Falls address required to obtain a replacement card. Replacement cards are only available at Niagara Fall City Hall (Finance Department), MacBain Community Centre, Coronation Centre, and Transportation Services Office.

  • I qualify for the promotion but have already purchased a 10 ride pass, will I be issued a refund?

    10 Ride passes are valid at anytime. You can save the 10 Ride pass and use it a later date.
