The Canadian Authors Association, Niagara Branch is an association of writers helping other writers in the art of composing and getting published their literary work. They provide monthly programsy between September and June and have an annual short story contest for fiction writers with the top 15 winners published in an anthology. Cash prize for First, Second and Third Place winners.

The City of Niagara Falls 4th Annual Art Show & Competition will take place at the Victoria Avenue Public Library August 2nd-29th, 2019. The competition is open to all Niagara Falls residents and students over the age of 18. There is no fee to enter; however all participants are asked to register online in advance (registration will close two days before the show). Delivery of all art on Aug 1.

Local Indigenous beadwork artist Sam Thomas creates this year's community art project which will be unveiled at Niagara Falls Night of Art on September 19. Touching on the issues of environment, land, water, & treaties with Indigenous nations. Thomas is a member of the Lower Cayuga Band of the Iroquois Nation and endeavors to break down cultural divisions through sharing knowledge and the arts.
